NihonGo! is a free, no-account-needed website for learning Japanese from the very first character to JLPT N4. It is made by an individual learner for other learners — there are no ads, no email signups, and no premium tier.

The curriculum runs in a single linear path:

• Hiragana and katakana with charts, flashcards, and quizzes
• 50 kanji units (around 569 characters total)
• 50 lessons interleaved with the kanji units, covering vocabulary, grammar, and full conversations

Lessons 1–25 follow the JLPT N5 syllabus and lessons 26–50 follow JLPT N4. Each lesson introduces new vocabulary alongside its kanji unit so reading material always stays at your level — un-taught kanji are shown in hiragana until they are introduced.

The two cats you keep seeing are Fuji and Yuki. They are the conversation partners in every lesson dialogue and the friendly faces around the site.
