〜たいです
Saying what you want to do — the masu-stem way
One more ます-stem pattern. Drop the ます and add たいです to say “I want to ~”, or たくないです for “I don’t want to ~”. Same stem, new ending.

みずを のみたいです。

“I want to drink water.”
2つの いいかた
Both start from the ます-stem (the verb minus ます). Tap any sentence to hear it.
“I want to ~” — say what you'd like to do.
“I don't want to ~” — the negative.
まとめ
🔊 Tap any cell to hear it. Drop ます, add the ending. It works the same for every group — no exceptions.
