Just add で. The last adjective keeps its normal ending.

when the thing changes

You've just turned たかい into たか. Keep that same and put なります after it, and you can say a thing changed: たか なりました — “it got expensive”. な-adjectives and nouns are the ones to watch: they take , not the they used for linking. 🔊 Tap any example to hear it.
